An expert team for advanced electronic music education. SonarHouse Electronic Music School brings together professional instructors who are active on the Turkish and international electronic music scene and have worked on hundreds of licensed projects. From Ableton Live and analog synthesizers to sound design and professional mix & mastering, we bring industry standards into our studios at every level.
1-to-1 lessons in English are taught by founder Mehmet Akar. Our other instructors teach in Turkish.

Mehmet Akar | Founder – DJ & Ableton Live Instructor, Mix & Mastering Specialist
Mehmet Akar is the founder and senior instructor of SonarHouse, with over 20 years of experience in the music industry and production. With 100+ original tracks released on labels such as Global Underground, Last Night On Earth, Manual Music and Perspectives Digital, he teaches DJing, Ableton Live music production, advanced mix & mastering and sound design. He teaches all 1-to-1 lessons in English, in the studio or online.
Junior (TR) | DJ & Production Instructor
DJing since 2002, Junior (TR) is one of the defining names of Turkey’s techno scene: owner of 909 Production, partner in EXTIMA Records and resident DJ at Klein Phönix in Istanbul. He plays an active role in the practical DJ and production modules, from organising music in Rekordbox and professional CDJ technique to set building and track selection.
Ceren Akar | Co-Founder & DJ Instructor
With nearly 10 years as a professional DJ and a background in architecture, Ceren Akar is one of the co-founders of SonarHouse. She mentors students in performance psychology, harmonic mixing and confident use of equipment on stage, guiding them on their electronic music journey.

Elnur Hüseynov | Songwriting & Vocal Instructor
Known for his Eurovision experience and international vocal achievements, Elnur Hüseynov leads special modules on recording vocals for electronic tracks, songwriting, vocal coaching and melodic arrangement.

Mehmet Akar is an independent electronic music producer and DJ, born in Istanbul in 1985. His musical journey began in the mid-90s, and his passion for electronic music has taken him to stages around the world.
Over his career he has released more than 100 original tracks and hundreds of remixes on internationally recognised labels including Perspectives Digital, Manual Music, Haute Musique and Clubbers Culture. His tracks have reached wide audiences through Beatport charts and Spotify playlists.
In 2011 he won the Next Producer Star Remix Contest organised by Burn Energy Drink and was selected by Sasha to join a private workshop with Richie Hawtin at SAE Institute. He has played leading clubs in Argentina, Russia, Bulgaria, Romania, Cyprus, Tunisia, Thailand and Turkey.
As the founder of SonarHouse Electronic Music School, he trains the next generation of electronic musicians through Ableton Live and DJ courses, and teaches all 1-to-1 lessons in English, in the studio or online.
About Junior (TR)
Junior (TR) started his DJ career in 2002 and has become one of the defining names of Turkey’s electronic music scene. Known for powerful, hypnotic techno and tech-house sets, he built a solid place in Istanbul’s nightlife, and winning the Miller Music Factory competition in 2009 brought him international attention.
In 2020 he relaunched 909 Production, the label and platform he owns, turning it into a driving force of Turkey’s underground culture. He is also a partner in EXTIMA Records and works as resident DJ and stage manager at Klein Phönix, where his iconic closing sets have become a trademark of Istanbul’s techno nights.
As a producer he has released standout tracks on labels such as EXTIMA, Sibil-la Music and Dark Face Recordings, reaching the upper ranks of the Beatport charts. He is also behind Göcek Yacht Sessions, private electronic music experiences on yachts in the bays of Göcek.
At SonarHouse, Junior (TR) teaches DJing and passes the pulse of the underground scene on to the next generation. His lessons are taught in Turkish.
1-to-1 Music Education to International Standards
Beyond theory, the SonarHouse team brings current industry trends and production discipline to the standards of Beatport charts and streaming platforms into the studio. In our acoustically designed studios in Seyrantepe, Kağıthane, Istanbul, or online, we offer hands-on, practice-focused learning in Ableton Live, synthesis, vocal processing and stage performance. If you don’t speak Turkish, you can study 1-to-1 in English with Mehmet Akar.
